This Privacy Policy explains how ThumbDesign ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information when you use our AI thumbnail generation service at thumbdesign.app (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use the Service:

  • Account information — your email address, name and password (stored as a secure hash) when you sign up.
  • Content you provide — text prompts, headlines, reference images you upload, and YouTube video URLs you submit for thumbnail generation.
  • Generated content — the thumbnails created for you, which are stored in your library so you can access them later.
  • Usage data — credit balance, plan, and generation history needed to operate your account.

2. AI processing with OpenAI

ThumbDesign uses OpenAIas its AI image generation provider. When you generate a thumbnail, your prompt, headline and any reference image you provide are sent to OpenAI's API to produce the result. This processing is subject to OpenAI's policies. Per OpenAI's API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models.

We do not send your account details (email, name, password) to OpenAI — only the content required to generate your image.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate and improve the Service.
  • To authenticate you and secure your account.
  • To track credits and billing for your plan.
  • To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Content moderation and prohibited content

ThumbDesign does not support or allow NSFW content of any kind. This includes sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise adult material, as well as content depicting graphic violence, gore, or exploitation. Prompts and uploads may be screened by our AI provider's safety systems, and attempts to generate prohibited content may be blocked and can lead to suspension or termination of your account.

5. Data storage and retention

Your account data and generated thumbnails are stored with our hosting and database providers. Generated thumbnails remain in your library until you delete them. When you delete a thumbnail or your account, the associated content is removed from our systems.

6. Your rights

You may access, update or delete your personal data at any time through your account settings, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA).

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
